Indiana Groups Serving
Women Voters

The Indiana list of groups serving women voters includes a single entry for the Indiana League of Women Voters. In fact, we have an entire page devoted to League Chapters within Indiana here. Most of the rest of the groups below are chapters of national organizations, and a few are pages of groups devoted to prompting grassroots activity in Indiana without working through a local chapter.

Women4Change Indiana promotes “Fair Voting + Voter Access” through tools that allow supporters to contact Indiana legislators directly as well as to sign-up to become “Action Advocates.” Action Advocates lobby their legislators, and they get periodic emails with such vital details as committee hearing times and bill updates. Women4Change’s 2020 Get Out The Vote campaign was large and very well organized. They engaged hundreds of volunteers to reach an estimated half-million voters (half through text messages and post cards, and half through social media).

League of Women Voters of Indiana

The League of Women Voters of Indiana worked in partnership with Common Cause Indiana to create the Indiana Coalition for Independent Redistricting. The League is also a founding member of the All IN 4 Democracy Coalition. All IN 4 Democracy works in support of the Indiana Citizens Redistricting Commission. The Commission is intended to show that a balanced group of citizens can draw districts that would serve the public interest better than districts drawn by politicians. Volunteers may become actively engaged by joining the organization and participating through a local league – all listed and linked here.

Monroe County NOW pushed in 2020 for improved voting opportunities. They asked members to contact Senator Young to urge increased funding for vote-by-mail, for expanded in-person early voting, and for more and better polling locations.
