A search for North Carolina pro-democracy groups completed in late 2021 has identified more than 130 groups working to build democracy in North Carolina. Many of these groups are focusing on, or preparing to focus on, voter registration and voter turnout efforts for the coming election. Many also play important roles in the progressive pro-democracy political ecosystem in North Carolina, including focusing on the needs of underrepresented and marginalized groups, undertaking general public education, carrying out legislative pressure campaigns, initiating litigation, and much more.
While several pages linked below are to North Carolina chapters of large national organizations, these chapters are mostly grassroots in nature because what they actually do, how much they actually do, and how they pay for it are left largely up to local volunteers to determine.
