Maine Citizens for Clean Elections has the goal of breaking the power of wealthy special interests to control the agendas pursued by our elected leaders. They work to ensure that Maine’s campaign finance laws, elections, and government serve the public interest, in principle and in practice. They see Maine's history of successful election reform as a model
for the rest of the country.

The Maine People’s Alliance has worked to safeguard voting rights
through two successful People's Veto referendum campaigns
– to preserve same day voter registration in 2011 and to preserve ranked choice voting in 2018. Their Beacon news website features "rigorous reporting, political analysis, and smart, progressive voices from across the state."
